Boulter International provides installation and rigging services for Heidelberg USA printing presses across New York State. In April, 2011 Boulter Industrial completed the installation of a new Heidelberg Speedmaster CX 102 for a local printing company. Using a range of equipment, including a portable gantry lift, fork and hand trucks, jacks, and skates, we began the process as soon as we received the necessary units at our warehouse.
We first got to work by breaking down the rigging pieces based on installation, and packaged them into 12 crates for transport. Once on site, Boulter Industrials 4-man crew worked 12-hour days to assemble all the pieces. A concrete floor had been prepared in advance by the building owneronce ensuring the assembly was properly leveled and aligned, we anchored the assembly to the floor based on manufacturing specifications.
The total assembly consisted of 5 distinct sections, with the lightest section weighing 27,414 pounds and the heaviest section weighing 45,569 lbs. The entire process was supervised by a representative from Heidelberg, ensuring that the rigging and installation of the printing press met exact requirements. In total, the project took one week. To learn more about this project and others, please contact Boulter Industrial.
