Boulter Industrial Contractors Expands Leadership Team
Company hires VP of Human Resources and promotes team member to Operations Manager
WEBSTER, N.Y. – January 31, 2017 – Boulter Industrial Contractors, Inc. has announced the appointment of two new additions to the leadership team: Karen Marsh as the company’s first Vice President of Human Resources and promoted Donald Luther to Operations Manager. The expansion of Boulter’s leadership team enables the company to support increasing demand across Western and Central New York for their comprehensive rigging, transportation, relocation and installation services. Regional businesses and organizations have entrusted Boulter to handle their most valuable equipment for more than 125 years.
"Over our five generations of family leadership, Boulter has continued to evolve, experiencing growing use of new services and embracing change to meet shifting marketplace demand and the needs of our clients," stated William (Willis) Boulter, CEO & President, Boulter Industrial Contractors. "By expanding our service offerings and increasing our full-time staff to more than 50, we continue our singular focus of providing our customers with the best people and equipment to meet their evolving needs. Bringing in Karen and promoting Don to our leadership team will increase our organizational efficiency, allowing us to align the right staff and management team members with the right projects. I am excited to welcome Karen and Don to our leadership team."
In her new role, Marsh will be responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day operation of Boulter’s human resources department. She will also serve as a liaison for Boulter’s labor unions. Marsh brings over 20 years of HR experience in manufacturing, service and technology to the Boulter team. Over the course of her career, she has gained extensive experience working with unionized companies, while serving in local, national and international HR capacities.
"Joining a fifth-generation company is an exciting opportunity," stated Marsh. "Being a part of a culture and legacy of success that has been in place for 125 years is a rare opportunity. I’m excited to join the team and contribute to Boulter’s continued success and growth by supporting and championing team training, safety and efficiency that will benefit our clients and staff."
In his new role, Luther will oversee Boulter’s day-to-day field operations. He will serve as a liaison between clients and the field employees, facilitating questions and progress reports, dispatching employees and ensuring proper allocation of equipment. Luther joined Boulter in 2012 and has over 25 years’ experience in operations and fleet management.
"Boulter’s operations and fleet management is a complex, continuously flowing system, with calls, orders and equipment coming in, and staff and equipment going back out all the time," stated Luther. "Ensuring that all of our equipment is in premium condition and staff and equipment are right-sized for each client job, while coordinating multiple complex projects, requires precise capabilities across the organization. While this is a new position, it’s one for which I’ve been preparing for years by partnering with Willis directly, and I’m excited to officially take the reins and get deeply involved in all of our client projects."
